P.S Introducing a new benefit of Arts Club membership! I am offering each Member the opportunity to use the Lookout as a studio for your own one day residency. Let me know if you are interested and we will fix a date for you. First come first served! Email me for more details
Please note that The Arts Club lunch in June on Wednesday 5th June is kindly hosted by Hilary Garner in her beautiful barn on the edge of the village of Holton near Halesworth. Hilary is an artist and has also restored the barn into a wonderful space for hire for art exhibitions and workshops, suppers, performances, wine tastings, and other interesting and creative events. At our lunch we will be able to view her current exhibition - several members of Suffolk Open Studios have rented the barn and we will be able to view their work.
If you would like to come, please RSVP to me and I will send you the address. As usual there is no charge and we all bring food and drink to share.

Susan Brinkhurst invites us to participate in a themed outdoor exhibition over the Festival weekend as part of
This year we would like to extend our invitation to The Arts Club Aldeburgh Beach artists.
The festival theme is ‘Weather Vanes & Cardinal Points’ which we hope is a broad enough brief to spark a great variety of ideas and new works from all the artists invited to take part.
Thousands of visitors pass through the Gardens over the two days of the festival so your work will be widely seen and discussed.
Keep in mind that the work will be shown outdoors and needs to survive the weather (we have had the odd drop of rain in the past) and consider carefully how the piece will be positioned and fixed for display. The work can be mounted on wooden stakes or metal poles in the ground or hung from the trees (but not fixed to them with nails or screws). Works laying flat on the ground might pose a trip hazard so let us know if that’s what you’re planning and we can discuss the problem and a solution.
Delivery of artwork to the Gardens will be on the 18th June for the Festival weekend (22nd-23rd).
Your artwork remains your property and no commission is taken from any sales that result from the ‘Weather Vanes & Cardinal Points’ exhibition.
As with last year we are happy to offer £75 to each artist towards the cost of materials.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you’d like to take part so we can prepare the contributor’s list.
