THE ALDEBURGH BEACH LOOKOUT PRESENTS PERIENNE CHRISTIAN, AROUND TIME.

Is linear time a human construct to help us make sense of a world we have created?

Could everything be happening simultaneously?

Woven into this exhibition are various elements that relate to this questioning of time.

On the ground floor, you will find paintings and etchings in response to the land here; a drawing (made during the residency) that journeys into its sounds and lifelines and a shifting through of lifetimes within the Herstory drawings and monoprints.

On the first floor, an invitation for you to connect with the wild plant medicines that grow all around us and at the top of the lookout, an invitation for you to explore what time means for you, in collaboration with Perienne.

Perienne's exhibition theme synchronistically links to our own journey into Time and Timelessness through previous exhibitions and in Caroline’s book, A Timeless Moment.

Of Moon, 2022

In a circular and spiraling time journey, Perienne's Herstory Full Circle work being shown on the ground floor contains semi-autobiographical stories of her own journey through clearing the ancestral trauma of being a third generation holocaust descendent of Jewish refugees from the Ukraine and Poland; a connection to visionary states, messages from the natural world and a golden thread of remembering she feels is re-weaving through humanity at this time, despite all appearances of chaos in our world. After viewing this work, you might wish to view and add to our peace line - a line of pebbles on the beach outside the lookout, connecting the Lookout with the angel of the East. Each pebble has a message on it, written in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
